The American Samoan member of the US Congress says he finds it difficult to stand up for veterans of the armed forces because few of them have registered.
Faleomavaega Eni Hunkin says while an estimated 5,000 military retirees live in the territory, only 300 make use of the health benefits offered by the Veterans' Administration.
"I cannot emphasize enough the importance of their registration with the veterans' office that we have here in the territory, if we don't do this then I cannot do my job."
