The court martial of a second group of 23 Fiji soldiers charged with the November 2000 mutiny has been told that the rebel troops were ordered to shoot to kill at the height of the gun battle
The order came from the leader of the mutineers, Captain Shane Stevens, as he realised that his rebellion would fail.
Military witness Staff Sergeant Akeai Kalounivalu said Captain Stevens was becoming very angry and ordered his rebels to shoot to kill any loyal soldier who moved.
Sgt Kalounivalu said he was shot in the leg near the army operations room.
The wounded sergeant said when another soldier offered to help him, Captain Stevens swore at him.
Sergeant Kalounivalu says three and a half years later the bullet in his leg is yet to be removed and the injury has not healed.
Captain Stevens and the first group of soldiers found guilty of mutiny last year are now serving their sentences.
