Solomon Islands prime ministers extends invitation to investors

The Solomon Islands prime minister, Sir Allen Kemakeza, has issued an open invitation to foreign businesses to invest in the country.

Sir Allen made the offer at a function to welcome a delegation from Papua New Guinea's New Britain Oil Palm company.

The company is in the country to look at the possibility of reviving theSolomon Islands Plantation Limited, on the north Guadalcanal plains.

The prime minister has invited other investors to look at mining, fishing, forestry and other sectors.
