The Solomon Islands Visitor Bureau says they're focussing on attractions like deep water diving and cultural experiences to convince tourists to come to the country.

The marketing manager, Andrew Nihopara, says they will target both Australia and New Zealand in a new marketing campaign.

There's been a fall-off in visitors since the conflict in the country but Mr Nihopara says Solomon Islands is now safe and offers some exciting possibilities.

"We focus in diving and also the cultural aspect of our country which is very attractive to European visitors and they express a lot of interest in our cultures,so we have programmes going on in those long haul markets."
