Flight Attendants with Papua New Guinea's national carrier, Air Niugini, have voted to go on strike after failing to reach agreement with the management over pay issues.

The Air Nuigini Flight Attendants Association said the union would now advise the Aviation Authority of the result of the ballot and the planned action, as required by law.

The National newspaper says they also want to give the management time to address their concerns in order to avoid industrial action, which is likely to prove financially damaging to the cash strapped airline
