American Samoan government files charges over school lunch programme

The American Samoa government has filed charges in connection with the investigation into the theft of food and supplies from the school lunch programme.

The former manager of the programme, Toetu Solaita and two former programme employees, Faavale Sala and Tamati Atuatasi, have made initial appearances in the District Court in connection with the case.

Solaita faces one count of embezzlement while Sala and Atuatasi have each been charged with two counts of stealing.
