An inmate at the Tafuna Correctional Facility in American Samoa has died after being attacked by a fellow prisoner.
36 year old Senetala Lavasii was slashed on the head and the back with a machete.
Another prisoner who tried in intervene is in hospital and may lose an arm.
The attacker was sent back to prison after being held in hospital overnight
