Three Indian nationals suspected of travelling on false passports have been deported from Samoa.

The CEO of the Ministry of the Prime Minister, Auseugaefa Va'asatia Poloma, told local television that three men had tickets for stays of five and a half months but didn't have permits to do so.

The three refused to return when advised by Immigration officials, police and Air Pacific.

Auseugaefa says the men had told authorities they had come to Samoa to set up a business.

The Samoa Broadcasting Corporation said there was a suspicion that a Samoan citizen had tried to sneak in the three Indians.
