The Solomon Islands Health Ministry is appealing to national doctors working abroad to return to fill vacant posts at home.
National Medical Superintendent, Dr Judson Leafasia, says the ministry needs the doctors' services because the hospital is of short of them.
He says 80 of 112 doctors trained abroad have taken up jobs in neighbouring Pacific countries, including Australia and New Zealand.
Dr Leafasia says since the ministry has been able to track down the Solomon Island doctors, some of them have rejoined the health services.
However, he says the government wants all of them to return to serve their people.
Many doctors left the Solomons at the height of the recent ethnic crisis.
