Head of States 91st birthday marked as a public holiday

So far there is no word over whether Samoa will continue with tomorrow's public holiday to mark the 91st birthday of its Head of State.

Malietoa Tanumafili the second was appointed when Samoa gained independence in 1962, is believed to be the oldest surviving head of state in the world.

His higness maintains a healthy lifestyle and is active in keeping up his official duties.

American Samoa governor Togiola Tulafono is in Samoa, among other distinguished guests invited to his official state birthday luncheon tomorrow.
