A six-day strike affecting New Caledonia's international airline has been settled.

More than 90 percent of the 120 workers had taken action to improve benefits, allowances and holidays for staff.

Air Calin's CEO, Jean-Michel Masson, says he estimates the strike has cost the company hundreds of thousands of US dollars in lost revenue.

A Union spokesperson, Nathalie Bourguignon, says the agreement signed with Air Calin sees a significant improvement of employment benefits.

She says compensations included recuperation leave, improved medical insurance coverage for overseas trips and discounted tickets for business class.
