Public servants and security guards are among those arrested in Fiji in connection with a spate of armed robberies involving millions of dollars.

An Immigration Department employee and an Armourguard security officer are among those charged with robbery with violence and wrongful confinement in the recent 670 thousand US dollar heist in Lautoka.

Four others have been arrested in Suva for taking the cash, which was in the care of Armourguard, to be flown out of the country from Nadi airport.

Meanwhile, three other security officers have been charged with stealing thousands of dollars worth of camera equipment brought into Fiji for the filming of the Hollywood movie, Anaconda 2.

The equipment was recovered from their homes.
