Samoa's Supreme Court has reserved its decision on whether a suspended accounting lecturer should be reinstated at the National University of Samoa or NUS. .
The lecturer, Rosita Esera, who was suspended because of low pass rates by her students while at the University of the South Pacific in Fiji, wants the court to issue an injunction to allow her to resume work.
Esera was hired by NUS in March 2001, but when the university received news earlier this year of the high failure rate at USP, they sent a study team to Fiji.
Her lawyer, Toleafoa Solomona Toailoa, says he received a letter frm NUS saying they wanted to replace Esera, and invited her to resign, and if she did not she would be suspended, pending a disciplinary procedure.
Esera refused to sign and was suspended on February 12th.
