Police in the Papua New Guinea capital, Port Moresby, are investigating reports that a woman was pack-raped by up to 70 men at Gerehu early this week.

The Post Courier reports that police sources say the woman appeared to have been lured to the attack by a taxi driver who delivered her and two other women to Gerehu from a city nightclub.

The police won't comment on the alleged attack but say there have been several other incidences of rapes in the city this week.

They include a woman who was raped at Boroko while returning home to Korobosea from the PRL Club, and a student of Gerehu High School who was raped abducted from Gerehu bus stop and raped by about 15 men in an all-night ordeal.
