The Fiji Democratic Party has called on the government to acknowledge on a national level the achievements of Team Fiji athletes and the organisers of the just concluded South Pacific Games.
Party secretary general, Filipe Bole says there were copuntless factors which led to the remarkable success of the Games and these included the dedication of the organisers.
Mr Bole says the Games showed in a very emphatic way that Fiji's strength could truly be found in the multi-racial mix of its athletes and organisers.
He says sport has a unique way of bringing communities together and provide a more pleasant way of resolving difficult and intractable problems.
