An underwater cable being laid in Samoa promises to supply Manono with more regular electricity.
Located between the bigger islands of Upolu and Savaii, Manono received electricity for the first time several years ago through on-island generators, but supply is rationed.
Televise Samoa says the cable is being laid between Upolu and Manono .
Islanders are helping lay the cable and its hoped power will be connected next week.
