A special police constable in Solomon Islands has been shot dead in the capital, Honiara.
Reports say the shooting occurred when a brawl broke out among a group of men who had been drinking.
Police say when they arrived at the scene everybody had fled apart from the shooting victim who died of his injuries an hour later.
No weapon has been found but police say they suspect the man was shot by one of his relatives.
