Fiji's opposition leader, Mick Beddoes, has warned that the country will continue to have more coups unless politicians stop using "indigenous rights" issues in their campaigns.
Mr Beddoes has told the Daily Post newspaper such campaigns may be a feature in the country once the Supreme Court ruling on the multi-party cabinet case is released.
He says for too long selfish politicians out for personal gain have been fooling the people by making claims that indigenous rights are under threat.
Mr Beddoes says the Supreme Court decision will only clarify a constitutional position and, whichever way it goes, it must be abided by the government and accepted by the nation.
He says the rule of law must be upheld at all times or Fiji will fall into chaos.
Assistant Commissioner of Police, Emosi Vunisa, says they have been told the Supreme Court ruling will be given after the South Pacific Games are over.
