Federated States of Micronesia has new president

The congress of the Federated States of Micronesia has chosen a new president and other top leaders.

Joseph Urusemal has become the new president, replacing Leo Falcam.

Mr Urusemal is from Yap state and the country's sixth president.

Senator Redley Killion of Chuuk was named vice-president while Senator Peter Christian of Pohnpei was made the new speaker of Congress.

The new leaders were sworn in on Pohnpei in a ceremony administered by an associate justice, Martin Yinug.
