Papua New Guinea's Foreign Minister, Sir Rabbie Namaliu, has warned that if visa and immigration systems are not tightened, the country could become an attraction for terrorists and other international criminals.

Sir Rabbie says governments and overseas missions need to be vigilant to ensure the integrity of the migration systems so not to get a reputation of being slack or corrupt.

He made the comment as he commissioned new heads of mission to Solomon Islands, Fiji, the Federated States of Micronesia and the Marshall Islands, China, the Philippines and Indonesia.
