A High School in the Papua New Guinea province of Western Highlands has been forced to shut down because of a typhoid outbreak.
The National newspaper reports that 42 students have become infected since the first cases were reported last week.
The Minj High School Board of Management has since agreed to upgrade the sanitation facilities which have been condemned by health authorities.
The school was closed after a stern warning issued by Health Inspector Roy Milling.
Mr Milling says the school needed to be closed to prevent the outbreak from developing into an epidemic.
