Vanuatu police have confirmed the escape of six high-risk prisoners from the main prison in Port Vila.
A police spokesman, Major Aru Maralau, says a squad is investigating the escape.
Major Maralau has called on the prisoner's relatives to turn them in to authorities saying anyone found habouring the escapees will be prosecuted.
