Ten New Zealand police officers have taken up their duties in Solomon Islands after completing a so-called sensitivity course.
The Solomons deputy police commissioner, Wilfred Akao, says they are assigned to four police stations around the capital, Honiara.
Mr Akao says the officers are mentoring local officers in all aspects of police work.
They have been sent to Solomon Islands as part of a programme to help restore law and order after the ethnic unrest and coup of 2000.
