Two Papua New Guinea policemen remain in serious but stable conditions after being shot during a hold up in Port Moresby yesterday morning.
Three police were hurt after being shot by a man trying to leave the scene of a shop robbery.
One of the officers, the police car driver, has been discharged but the other two, who have been shot in the lower abdomen and chest, needed to undergo emergency surgery.
The robbery suspect is also in hospital in a serious condition after being shot by the officers.
The Post Courier reports the Police Commissioner Sam Inguba saying police would not hesitate to deal with anybody who tried to kill innocent people, especially law enforcers.
He praised the police officer for quickly driving his colleagues to hospital despite having a bullet wound in his thigh.
