An enquiry into how jailed Papuan New Guinea politician, Norbet Makmop, was allowed to attend a function at Parliament earlier this week has been told to establish whether he drank alcohol while there.
Makmop is the former Western Province Governor.
He was jailed after being found guilty of misappropriating around seven hundred US dollars, and reportedly allowed out to go to a lunch at Parliament.
The Post Courier reports that a two person Correctional Services team has been told to establish who allowed him out and whether the prison management knew; to identify his escorts; his reasons for visiting Parliament and whether he consumed alcohol.
