A nephew of the Solomon Islands' police minister has been arrested for the stabbing murder of New Zealander Kevin O'Brien in Honiara in February.
John Buarafi, a painter at a Fletcher Construction building site in Honiara, is accused of killing his 39-year-old expatriate boss.
The Solomons' Police Minister Benjamin Una says Buarafi was his nephew and had been harboured in a village on Malaita since the attack.
Mr Una says he went to the village to convince his relatives to hand Buarafi over to police.
"I went up to these people and told his relatives that they should not have any criminals - it is a serious offence for murdering someone and that those who harbour those ctriminals should also be prosecuted."
