The Suva magistrates court has let off seven rebel supporters of the coup with a warning

The Suva magistrates court has let off seven rebel supporters of the coup front man, George Speight, with a warning not to commit any criminal offence in the next 12 months.

The men were charged with unlawful assembly at Kalabo Primary School near Suva after they left the parliamentary complex at the end of the hostage crisis in July 2000.

Radio Fiji says magistrate Salesi Temo warned the seven to stay out of trouble betwen now and April next year.
