(6) Malawi Mouse Boys
As childhood friends, they sold barbecued field mice on sticks as snacks to travellers in rural Africa. Now, Malawi Mouse Boys have the world mesmerised by their sweet, soulful singing. While the group's name pays homage to their childhood job, their music pays homage to God through a peculiarly African interpretation of gospel music (RNZ)

One of the leading composers of our time and an ardent promoter of new music throughout the world, Augusta Read Thomas is an artistic force to be reckoned with. Championed by Pierre Boulez in her early years and later named composer-in-residence with the Chicago Symphony Orchestra, Thomas rose early to the top of her profession and has remained there ever since.
