In his elegant Opus 6 set of Concerti Grossi Handel explores the shifting relationships between the instruments of a string orchestra and the contrast between a small concertino group of solo instruments and a larger ripieno or orchestral complement.
The concertino solo group in Handel’s Concerto Grosso in G minor Op 6 No 6 consists of two violins and cello.
