Violin Concerto in A minor, Op 3 No 6 comes from his first set of published concertos for stringed instruments – a set known as L’estro armonico / Harmonic Inspiration - one of the most reprinted collections of instrumental music in the eighteenth century, and one of the most influential.
The Opus 3 concertos are full of energy and novelty. There are three basic types of concertos in the collection; for one, two, and four violin soloists. The sixth concerto is written for solo violin and strings.
