One bad treatment should not put off acupuncture therapy

Fear, anxiety and a sense that acupuncturists aren't professional practioners. The president of New Zealand's largest acupuncture body is worried that's how people will feel after reading a recent report by the Health and Disability Commissioner titled Lungs punctured during acupuncture'. The report found a woman's lungs collapsed during treatment for pain in her arm and wrist, carried out by an acupuncturist. Our producer Lydia Batham spoke to Robin Kerr President of Acupuncture NZ and began by asking how this treatment could go wrong.
