Hilda Heine has been elected as the new President of the Marshall Islands.
She previously served in this position.
The national election results for the Marshall Islands were declared final on December 27 by the Chief Electoral Officer, and the vote for a new President took place when the parliament opened on Tuesday, local time.
Forty percent of the 33 seats in Parliament have changed hands as a result of the November 20 national election.
